I am inquiring about a certain producer in Georgia that produces MN hygienic packages and queens. Has anybody ever dealt with HL Bee Farm (Terry Hester), and if so, how good is his product.

I ordered two packages from them that I got late April. They were very friendly and courteous. My packages arrived a day later than anticipated and I had more dead bees in these packages than my other two I got this year from other suppliers (about a half inch with dead bee stink). I couldn't really say that this was their fault or the post office's fault though. The queens in both packages were alive. Both packages seem to be perking right along. (I just checked one yesterday). I didn't bother to call them about it. The bees were a little crankier, but I attributed that to the extra day in shipping. Besides, if you've selected bees for hygienic traits and keep them on top of dead stinking corpses for any length of time.... I'd expect them to be agitated (one sting on one of the packages+ new beek w/no gloves on+ I think I forgot to wash my hands). They've settled down since and seem to be calmer.

My bees were great!! Overwintered great and I split them 3 ways from Sunday in early early March. Best thing is, they had more than enough to do the splits. I now have 4 splits from them!!! They got hammered last year because of shipping problems. I made sure to tell them that my bees arrived timley and safe!!!
