I hived 2 nucs yesterday and installed plastic hive top feeders from Dadant on them. I went to check the feeders today, I saw very few if any bees in the feeder paths. Temps have been in the 50's with wind. Is this normal? Today, I dripped some syrup on the top of the paths to possibly attract the bees. I wondered if I put the white plastic inserts in correctly,as the pathway seems tight.

Thanks,
Andrew

I did see some bees coming and going. I figured with the low temps and wind, the bees need the syrup. I did also put what was left of the pollen patty attached during shipping in the hive for them.
