I have acquired (read free) some hive stands in the classic design with the sloped landing board, that the bottom board sits on top of. They are constructed of pressure treated lumber, that has been heavily painted. Would these be ok to use?

Thanks

Some (at least) of the green treated lumber has insecticide in it. Needless to say the bees do not do well with it. I consider a hive a food container. I would not build a hive out of or treat a hive with anything I wouldn't eat off of.
