I have to get ready for my first package of bees.....

I have two option:
one....put them at the edge of the bush, facing south, a bit warmer, less wind, also a bit warmer in the evening, when nights get cool.

Or.. put them out in the open, say about 20 to 30 Yards south from the bush....
which one of the two would you prefer?

I agree with Michael, but given the choice you presented, I'd probably pick the location closer to the bush. I prefer locations that call less attention to the fact that there are beehives around. Just don't get so close to the greenery that it gets in the way when you want to work the bees.

Another thing to think about is morning sun. If the bees are shaded in the morning, they'll get going slower than if they get warmed in the morning.

Thank you all!
I probably put them at the bush, this way, I don't have to move them when Winter comes.
