Hi

Is anybody know, if there is problem with spreading pitch in the hive floor (from outside of course), just to protect it from rot when having direct touch to ground or water touch?

Im afraid from heating the hive or damage the bees by pitch chemical elements.

Thanks alot

Thanks for the replies.

I understood that it is much better to put the hive on stands
and i am doing so when they are static (not in polination).

But in general, is there any problem with the material it selt, that can
be toxic or something else to the bees?

Thanks again
