All right -got the hives built-bees arriving today-one last question-do I leave a gap between the bars and the hive body on both ends of the hive or just one end for an entrance? Thanks, Parker

I would start with just one entrance until the bees build up enough, then you might want another, I don't think you need any more then one entrance though.

Parker,

I agree with Sam ... in my limited understanding of TBH, mostly based upon Michael Bush's excellent website http://www.bushfarms.com/bees.htm, one entrance at one end ... especially in light of the fact that he (Michael) does not use a follower board.

Two entrances increases the bee's efforts to control temp/humidity in the brood AND divides them on defense should there be robbing colonies nearby.
