Hi! I'm currently going into my third year of beekeeping here in Kentucky. Our apiary is located in LaRue County and about two miles away from Abraham Lincoln's Boyhood home.

We currently have nine over-wintered hives and are looking to expand to 20 by year end. We have been lucky enough to produce about 250lbs of honey in our second year and also sell one nuc!

This year our goal is to rear and mate at least 20 queens, sell 10 nucs and produce around 400lbs of honey.

Codeman:

Welcome to Beesource from the Western part of our great Commonwealth. I often pass through your area for work, and I imagine you are in a good spot for beekeeping.

It sounds like you are off to a great start, and best of success to you this year.

Glad to have another fellow Kentuckian on the forum, and I'll look forward to seeing your posts. Swam season will be upon us in less than a month!
