After lurking on this forum for some time I've decided to join, spent many hours researching about bees and after a couple of years I decided to jump in head first. Currently have 2 packages of bees I started a week ago. Hoping to gain useful information and learn more on beekeeping. Very new to beekeeping but also very excited about the whole thing. If anyone knows of any useful sites, information, or even books please feel free to let me know and thanks again for any info.

Hello and Welcome fellow Alabamian!
I too am new and this is my first year with bees. I ordered “The Hive and The Honeybee” and am really enjoying it. It is the encyclopedia of bee keeping! Not a lot of “How-To” but all of the knowledge you need to make your own decisions.
So far I am really enjoying it.
Good luck and keep us posted on your beekeeping endeavors!!!
