My wife and I caught two swarms recently and got back into beekeeping.
We are working with our new girls to build them for winter.
BTW the picture on our profile my wife just got two days ago of one of the girls working! :)

We are still newbies as our last bees we only had for less then two seasons.
We got our first two hives in 03. We lost our first hive to a mouse that got in and nested over the first 04 winter. When the weather got warm the girls left!
Our second hive was going real strong that second season, left them 3 fulls winter, I checked them in late february they where looking good, in the beginning of a March 05 activity in warmer days, then in the 3rd week of March everything seemed dormant, I cheked and there was nothing in the hives, no dead bees, just empty! :s

I have found lots of great info just reading and searching for a while now, I'll save my questions for the forums.

Hello from Santa Cruz,California. Not so sunny part of California, we get lots of fog during the Summer. I'm hoping to get a garden hive up and working this year. I could use the free honey ;-) -Bill
