Greetings from Maine!
I have just one hive, 2nd year this year. The first year went quite smoothly - guess the bees read the same books I did.
This year is interesting, because a lot of the "bee calendar" advice seems to boil down to "now you are back around to May and you repeat the same things you did last year". The bees are not buying that. So I am learning a LOT, mostly by trial and error (heavy on the error?), and also learning lots from reading this site.
My plan, like many other hobbyists, is to start another hive next spring "and this time, do it right!" Ha!
