Hi Melissa, I am in Bartlett and too am a first year beek. I am planning on harvesting my first honey in about one week. I have three supers (all mediums) on the hive so it looks like I will take a few pounds of honey. I am not counting my chickens yet though. I also expect to get a good goldenrod flow.

Hi, My son (10 years old) and I just started this adventure this spring. We read everything we can, hoping to do things right. So far, it seems like there is no one "right" way in beekeeping!! This site has been full of amazing information and so helpful! We have just one hive right now that seems to be doing very well---lots of bees, capped honey, etc. Is this a good season for everyone in this area?
