Thanks!

I don't even have any bees or supplies yet.

But like i said in my first post i have some questions.

1. what is the best time to keep bees?
2. what is the best supplier of bees?
3. what kind of area should they be kept in?
4. do you build the boxs or buy them?
5. do you wear a full bee suit of just face covering?
6. are different types of bees hardier and easier to keep than others?
7. do you have to feed the bees?
8. how do you know that they will return to their man made hive?
9. when you take the honey from them does it hurt the bees?
10. how long does it take for them to make honey?
11. if the bees multiply how do you keep them from getting too large of a colony?
12. is there a difference in honey with none chemical treated bees and chemical treated ones?
13. how do you keep from getting stung?
14. what is the life span of a colony?

I know its alot of questions and some of them are a matter of opinion but either way i would like to know what experienced bee keepers think.

Welcome GingerSnap. First , Join your local bee club. I googled it and it's The Greater Hot Springs Beekeeping Association. They meet the last thursday of each month @ Lake Hamilton Church of the Nazarene @ 7pm. Go next thursday and a lot of your questions will be answered in person. If you ask 10 different beekeepers a question you will get 11 different answers.
Here's my opinion after 2 full years.

1. All the way thru til spring.
2. This year, anybody that still has them.
3. In your back yard, not next to the front sidewalk.
4.I build but I have a full woodworking shop.
5. Full suit, Every time I've opened the hive Just for a minute they get me.
6. Don't know yet.
7. Yes, maybe later I may not have to.
8. You've given them the correct sized "Tree" to live in.
9. Not if you've left them enough stores to make it through the winter.
10. Don't expect to steal any from them the first year.
11. When the colony gets to large they will swarm. It's your job to keep that from happening.
12. Not that you would taste, mostly it's a matter of personal preference.
13. It comes with the job. I still swell up pretty good so I haven't developed a tolerance yet.
14. Ad infinitum, he said hopefully.

Good Luck
