I have a dozen deep frames of crystallized honey in the freezer. It is wired wax on wood frames. Some is two years old and likely has some sugar syrup source so I dont want to feed it. To what temperature, and for how long would the frames have to be heated to extract in a tangential extractor?

The frames should be brought to room temp first. I would set the frames in a tub of water that you can control to 110 F. If you can't control the water temp then start at maybe 115 and let is set for 15 min. You can air dry the frames by spinning them in the extractor before you uncap them and then dry out the extractor prior to extracting the frames.

When I've dealt with this, I closed all the doors on the kitchen, lit the oven and the burners on the stove and got the kitchen up to about 100 F or more. It must have been more because the candles in the kitchen melted...

Comb honey can gain and lose moisture. I would not raise the humidity let alone put them in water.

I think I have the makings of a hot box. Not too worried about "honey" as I will just use it for baking, but would like to save the comb. Sounds like a slow heat for a few days may do the trick.

Im confused.... you dont want to feed it back to the bees because your concerned it may have some honey that was derived from sugar syrup? Yet you want to warm it and extract it so you can eat it?

Put me in the camp of put it back on the hives and let the girls eat it.
