Hello all!

I use an impulse sealer to seal my honey sticks and we go through heating elements really fast. From the company I got my sealer from, the heating elemennt is sooooo expensive and shipping takes forever.

So my question..... when I change the element, all it is is a thin strip of wire. Can I siple use a metal wire in place of the element?

If not, where else could I buy a heating element like this?

Do a search for nichrome wire. And nichrome wire heaters.

Sounds like up need to be using a larger guage heating wire. They should not burn out that quick.

Standard wire would burn through much quicker. The nichrome wire is specially designed for heating elements. You will need to find out what the gauge of wire is that you are presently using and buy something very close to that. You can buy by the spool and should be able to get it much cheaper.
