A few more words might help ... new format of what? :)

If you are reading Beesource on a mobile device/smartphone, and don't like the recent change to that, perhaps this thread may be useful:
http://www.beesource.com/forums/sho...Smartphone-View-on-the-Site-(Feedback-Thread)

Note you can revert back to the old view if you want ...
You can also use the legacy mobile view by choosing the top left menu and Exit Enhanced Mobile Mode.

You can also post more verbose:p details/opinions in that thread.

The pop up ads are driving me nuts, and I find the layout very cumbersome
I like the old format, it was simple, easy to use , easy to read follow and comment

I may not come back

I am not using a mobile device. I noticed that the ads were causing my computer to crawl. I regained my performance using an ad blocker.

I have been a part of heavy traffic forums being sold before. The new owners want to keep the stats up so that they can make their revenue from ads...

Yes, there is a new mobile version that is served up by default. For those that don't like the new mobile version, there is a way to revert to the older format - see post #2 above. If you are not using a mobile device, then there is no change unless you are not logged in - see below for details.

For those not using a mobile version, you may recall that Barry had been looking for alternatives to the current vBulletin forum software. When I asked new Admin Phillip about that, he said that VerticalScope likes vBulletin, and I got the distinct impression that it was quite unlikely that Beesource will move away from the current desktop "look" anytime soon.

One note for those reading Beesource in a desktop format, and not registered as members, or those members that view Beesource logged out: Those not logged in are likely to see additional advertising (compared to being logged in). :)

Aside from ads, being a registered member means the forum software can keep track of how far in an existing thread you have already read (meaning it can 'jump' you past the messages you have previously read). Click the "New Posts" button to use this feature. This won't work if you are not registered.

I clicked on the exit enhanced mobile view and voila, the site is back to normal on my smart phone. It stayed that way the next time I logged on so I am a much happier camper.

I don't really like the new format either. I use the 'new post' feature a lot. Which the new format apparently doesn't have. I discovered the 'return to desktop' view and everything is back to normal.

I don't see any pop-ups

Just out of curiosity, how does a site like this pay it's operating costs without advertising?
The desktop ads are perfectly fine by me. But the new banner ads in between posts on mobile is a bit more than I'd wish.

(the old ads related to beekeeping are great ... just so many new trashy ads on mobile)

Sorry, just my opinion.
