Went out to the bee yard to find a pretty marked dead queen on the porch surrounded by about a dozen and a half girls.

I have a nuc that I can pull a queen from and introduce. There are no drones yet this time of year.

Do I wait three weeks, then introduce a frame of eggs in hopes they create their own queen.

Do I introduce the nuc queen, if so, how to do that when temps here in Jersey are still low at night, and maybe 50's in the day?

This is not the way I wanted to start out this year.

What would you do?

Do a hive inspection. Chances are real good you will find an already opened supercedure cell. If so, wait a week and check for eggs. If not, still wait a week.or two, check again, and then introduce a queen from your nuc.
