On most of the frames in 2 supers is something that looks like grey dust but does not rub off. I took these supers from a hive that did not survive the winter for reasons I do not know. There is honey, caped, in some of the frames. I am not sure if I should put these frames on another hive. Thank You for any advice, Alex

What you are seeing is probably a mold that forms on beeswax, the bees will clean it up. The only reason to not use the honey is if the colony died from American Foulbrood. You can find the symptoms by doing a search on the USDA Webb site.
