Brand new to beekeeping. In fact I don’t even have bees yet. Friend invited me to help harvest honey and got me interested in pursuing it. I joined a local beekeepers club, found a couple of mentors, bought a beekeepers jacket and gloves. Also have a book. Plan is to learn as much as possible, get my equipment between now and next spring so I’m ready to set up two hives then. Looking forward to learning from folks here in the forum.

Wecome to Beesource Benniesdad. If you are handy with a saw, making most of your own equipment during the winter months is very rewading too. I would start with a couple of swarm traps. They are easy and are good practice. And who knows, you might even catch a swarm your first year! Most beekeepers like free things and free bees are the best of all.
