I am going to be transfering 15 Nuc's to standard hive bodies in a couple of weeks.

Should I start grease patties before, or after this is done.

I will be doing FGMO and Thymol and am using small cell foundation. Should I fog while they are in the Nuc?? Or wait until in a 10 frame?

Thanks

Your choice. Before, after or not at all.

The FGMO should take care of tracheal mites (which is what the grease patties are for) as should the small cell. Why do the grease patties?

Again, it really doesn't matter.

I will pass on the grease patties.............

If it doesn't matter on fogging the Nuc's, then I'll wait until I get them in full hive bodies.

I did not understand that small cell affected tracheal mites.

Thanks

There is a guy up here in MN who keeps grease patties on his hives all season. He took a sample of his bees to Marla Spivak to check for tracheal mites. She found none. The MN Hygenics Marla had by comparison were loaded with them.
