I have heard people say that when bee's are working goldenrod the hive smell like old sox's, mannnnnnnn!!!!! if thats is what is stinking in my hive's and its suppose to smell like old sox's, some body needs to wash there feet bad,, my hive stink, guess I finally see what goldenrod smells like but got to get the nerve now to taste the honey from it, man it stinks and im a old country boy, just thought I would express my own opinion on that stinking smell. might have to check my hives in a few days to see if anything is dead around them, first year beekeeper for those that didn't know that already.

IMO, the smell's worth it. I like the taste of Goldenrod honey...and it doesn't seem to smell that way when I'm extracting it.

Cheers,

When goldenrod honey cures into honey the smell will go away. I agree with DCH I think goldenrod tastes good, I know not everyone thinks so.
