Long ago I determined that I want to keep bees. I have recently determined that I am now ready to do such.

The Plan:
I am currently designing a top bar hive and a swarm trap and working on drawings. Hopefully I can have that finalized by the end of the year and start building two hives and a couple swarm traps to be ready in the spring. $$$ is an issue right now, as I am a recent first time home buyer with lots of projects on my list that take priority, so I don't think I'll be in any position to buy bees.

Currently I'm pulling together scraps of wood to build my hives, reading books from the library, reading as much as I can on the internet and attending you-tube university... oh, and looking for a mentor via Craigslist. If there is anyone from the Findlay Ohio area that likes to teach, please let me know!

I look forward to learning!

Find a bee club and attend meetings. The folk there will be able to guide you in preparing to keep bees in your area.
