I have decided to stop feeding my two newly installed packages from 4/26/14. Is there any easy way to get the bees out of a top feeder other than "smoking" them out?:s

i took mine off the other day.. it was 99% empty so i just left it next to the hive and most of them flew back after they had a last swig. mine is only a small chicken waterer though so it was easy to pull out.

Move it away from the hive if it still has syrup in it. You risk triggering a robbing incident if you open feed right next to a hive.

If it's empty just flip it over and give it a whack on the edge of the box so any bees drop into the hive.
