getting bees off underside of SBB

I had my SBB open for a bit the other day and now i want to close it but theres all kinds of bees on the underside of it. Is there an easy way to get them out of there long enough to slide the tray back in?

Drive them off with the smoker and your brush, then slid the tray back in.

Hi,
There are people in Colorado, & the new England states that successfully over winter hives with the screens open. Some people close them some people don't.
In our climate I don't see any reason to.

We slide a white board in ours when we powder sugar the hives, wait 10 min. than remove it to count mites. That's the only time we close our bottoms.
