I hived a swam several weeks ago. They chose not to follow the foundation (some duragilt and some plasticell) provided and built their comb perpendicular to the foundation. I didn’t check on them for a while so they have five frames completely welded together in this way. What I would like to do is get them, their brood, and their stores out of that comb. Any ideas on how to do this?

How are the frames spaced? Tightly together? Evenly spaced. Tightly together they will seldom make this maistake. Mixing plasticell and duragilt (before it's drawn) is a bad idea.

Cut it apart, brush bees off as you go and work gently, tie the brood into empty frames, harvest the honey, because it won't stay in the frames well.
