Currently, I use a full suit beekeeping. It works fine but I need to get a new cover for next year and am considering the jacket and veil set up instead of the full suit. Anyone have thoughts on this? Pros and cons of each and has anyone switched from the full suit to the jacket and veil combo and tell me about that?

If you have a few hives and they are pleasant-tempered, a veil would usually be enough and a jacket/veil on the few occasions you need more. I got a suit with pants separate from the jacket and after two or three uses quit using the pants -- just not needed -- old khakis or shorts suit me fine.

I have always used a jacket/veil combo. Never felt the need for the pants. I do get stung occasionally through my jeans, but that is part of beekeeping. VA is already hot as the dickens in the summer, I do not need the extra clothing.
