I am new to beekeeping and have a question concerning this....i had someone give me 2 doz of the all plastic frame/foundation. There is no wax left on any of them. The same person gave me some thin surplus..could i just melt some of the wax and then brush it on the frames. Also there is some dark residue on the plastic foundation can a person just give them a hard scrubbing ???

Plastic foundation should be rugged enough to scrub. If it is really a problem the bees are pretty good at housekeeping plus there are nearly 70,000 of them. Feeding plenty of sugar syrup yields quicker build out. Pierco has suggestions on their website.

the thin use on your honey suppers for honey production, And as for plasitc foundation, just put it in the frame soak it good with 1:1 sugar syrup put it in the hive and let the bees go to town. also good heavy feeding will help them draw out the comb.
