Here is a photo of a medium depth foundationless frame of sealed brood, this one is wireless, but I have learned to appreciate horizontal wires that become incorporated into the comb -->



There is a small group of drone cells in the bottom - center of the frame.

Joseph : I don't use wires at all. A little heigher comb ( 26cm - Gerstung frame). Have no problems with brood frames and I do comb honey. Don't extract from those...

I'd like to know more about those yellow frame attachments to keep space. Those would be handy in a number of situations I can think of.

Big Bear : those are spacers for Gerstung frames that are used in AŽ hives that are popular here. The frames are used "on the side" in this hive. Pushing them in and out and spacers are originally in the hive. I am using those frames in a hive system that is like LR.
