This is a second year hive and my second year beekeeping. Is it normal for them to discard larva occationally, I've found about fifteen on the ground in front of the hive and some at the entrance. Does this indicate a possible problem, have'nt opened the hive yet.

With the temp bouncing up and down there is a good chance it was chilled brood and they are just cleaning up.

So we're talking pupae instead of larva? I have some pupae on the bottom of some frames that they've cleaned out. I'm assuming cold weather on mine.
