hi all! my name is erik and im very new to beekeeping. my girlfriend got me started on it as she has had a colony for about 8 months now in her garden. we recently went to a bee class in our local area and from there i have become really interested in all aspects of beekeeping. my girlfriend and i just performed a colony split with her bees to a new hive that i just purchased, hoping they will make a queen. then a day later a swarm came and attached itself to my girlfriends peach tree in her garden!! we successfully captured the swarm and got them there own hive, this was Tuesday we moved them into the hive. it seems they are working vigorously to build comb for brood production as they are hanging out at the lower part of the center frames, im keeping my eye on them.

Welcome, Eric! Those girls sure can multiply! I had planned to just maintain my two hives this year, one from a fall split. However, I find myself now with four. Best wishes for a successful bee season.
