My friend's hive swarmed, luckily it was only on a branch about 10 feet off the ground. He has a capture bucket with a screen and a pass-through to let extra bees make their way into the bucket once the lid is on. He backed his pickup under the branch, we stood in the bed, he held the bucket while I hit the branch with a sledgehammer. Most of the swarm dropped right in the bucket, we popped the lid on. The rest of the bees clustered on the outside so we were pretty confident we got the queen.
