I installed 2 packedges of bees on the 25th. For the last 3 days we have been really cold and raining. Should I open and see if the queen is out or wait for better weather? I had to put a mellow in the hole because there was no candy plug. The next possible time I can check in Tuesday, but it is suppose to be crummy then too.

What do you suggest?

Thank you,
Jonathan

We hived ours on the 11th and have yet to take a look. Will be doing it next week and add another box while in there. They seem to be doing so well. I have hated to bother them and set them back.

if you're not feeding them, start. if you are feeding them (preferably on the top bars) check the feeder-NOW-rain,snow whatever. be ready with a replacement feeder, pop the top, swap 'em out, and go. good luck, mike

topping off the feed every 3-4 days is fine. after 14 days or so you can give a good look-see. good luck, mike
