I did my first cut out on Monday, what an experience. It was in the soffits of a farm house. There was a healthy looking colony of bees. As I cut open the hive I found dark comb with pollen stores and honey. It seem normal to me that there wouldn't be any brood until I got closer to the middle of the hive but there wasn't anything just loads of honey about 20 lbs.

I actually thought that it could be a queenless hive but I found the queen when I was setting it up at my bee yard.

Virgin queen? but there was lots of honey?
