We are going to have some really large powerful fireworks on our property sunday night. Are they going to bother my bees?

Are your hives entrances facing the direction from which the fireworks could be seen?

yes, they will be very scared. You should warm them so cocoa, and tell them your sorry just for thinking of having a party!

Ha ha! ACtually, the hive entrances do face away from where the fireworks will be launched. I guess they'll be OK, or they'll have to be because the show must go on!

They will either come out and shake their tails and fan or then again several thousand ladies just might come join (crash) the party! Woo hoo....HAHAHA :lpf:

If you have newly introduced queens or are trying to introduce queens and set off fireworks that have a very large percussion effect to them there could be an issue. The disruption to the hive by the percussion blast could cause the queens to be balled. Make sure no one is near the hives for a while after the boomers are done. The vibration from the blasts will aggitate the bees and they will fly at anything that comes near them especially if they(person) are carrying a light.

no queens are new. We are going to set up fairliy far away from the bees. These fireworks go up quite a ways so hopefully everything will be ok
