I have a hive or 2 that is running low on food this spring. I am currently using mountain camp method but would like to top feed with sugar syrup. When would you recommend starting to feed with syrup (do you go by date or temperature?) It is supposed to get into the mid 40s this week and I would be feeding above the inner cover, so I wouldnt be disturbing the cluster. I would like to feed but I also don't want to bring up population too quickly or have them starve. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

When using the top feeder the syrup temperature is what matters. If the syrup does not stay above 50*F, they probably will not take it.
