I've been feeding for about 5 weeks now. There is a lot more activity from my foragers due to the fact goldenrod and my 2 acres of buckwheat are starting to bloom. Is it drastic to take away the sugar syrup all at once or should I taper it off? I didn't feed them today and I've got some hot bees. A local beek told me that I should feed until they stop taking it.

What would you do?

Thanks.

I guess it depends on if they have enough syrup stored to last them a while. If they have a few capped frames in the deep and several frames in a super you could stop feeding, no need to taper off. If they have natural forage they won't take syrup anyway. Inspections will tell you if they need feed.
Hiking in the Paulding WMA last weekend I noticed a few goldenrods blooming also, seems a little early.

This is about as early as I can remember it blooming. I've noticed more and more for the past couple of days.
