I see in the for sale section that Ron is selling 800+ hives worth of bees, i.e. no boxes, frames or hardware of any kind. My question is if someone wanted to buy these to expand their number of hives, would Oct. be early enough to let them get winter stores together in the south? Looks like a great way to expand if they would.
Thanks

A friend of mine has purchased blow bees in the past. It was late Sept. early Oct. when he got them. In WI he placed 2 gal syrup on them. Mid Nov. they went to FL and got more syrup. They did great for him. If you were to fill your frames with syrup before the bees were blown into the boxes that would be enough to get them south(ship them as soon as the bees are in the boxes). Then you could feed more there in the warmer climate.
