I've got a small tub of MAQS (2 treatment pack) that has never been opened, but the strips expired a year ago. It has been stored in my garage, so warm storage. Usually temperatures around here aren't good for MAQS, but we've just had a huge temperature drop and the temperature is not going to go back up past the mid 80s.

OK to use?

Throw them out.

I lost 2 hives to mites after MAQS failed badly last fall. The strips that I had were only about 2 weeks past the expiration date. My understanding is that the formic acid breaks down relatively quickly in storage.

OK. Will do, and will get the Cling-on disruptor out instead (OA Vaporizer).

The whole reason they expired was because I don't want to use them in the spring during brood build up, and I don't want to use them in the late fall because of winter brood rearing, and the spring to nuclear summer transition here is almost instant.
