I did a talk recently for a local bee club. The topic was Expectations vs Reality the First Two Years.

Excellent audio quality. No echos or silly music!

I hate trying to listen to videos with poor audio. I usually immediately close them and move on. I work at making mine listenable. I don't always succeed.
And I am not a fan of music as a background or foreground. A lot of the serious YouTubers do a pretty good job of adding a background track but most of us amateurs tend to make it annoying.
15 minutes into the video and my internet craps out on me. Back on now, but for how long?

Very interesting video & well done. I will watch the full video when my ISP get his stuff all in one sock.
Nicely done!
Yes, very good.
first class presentation dan, you're a natural.

You didn’t need any background stuff with this type of video. I really thought the points you made were good especially the beekeeper year. Year 4 my Dad died, my Mom started with dementia, and my hives had AFB and I had to burn 11 huge hives, honey and all. I had 6 left, and they were a life saver. If I didn’t have those 6, I might have thrown in the towel (maybe ) So, good talk you did.
Great job Dan. You do a real nice job of relating to beginners or anybody else for that matter. I can see now why I always enjoy your Beesource input.
Thanks for the compliments. As I said at the beginning of the talk, the topic was a bit beyond my comfort zone but with a little cogitation I realized how important a topic it is.
Nice talk Dan, and you do not look anything like i expected at all. ;)

Some very good points but one I especially gelled with was your first one, your debunking of the advice often given to new beekeepers, that they need to be prepared to lose all their bees.

To me that is appalling advice and responsible for much loss. Because when the beekeeper loses some or all their bees, they just shrug and think, well i was told to expect that. They do not learn from their mistakes and improve themselves.
Nice talk Dan, and you do not look anything like i expected at all. ;)
Thanks. Nobody's ever accused me of being a pretty boy. :)
