Hi All

I've bought a vaporizer to use with Ethanol (ethyl alcohol) and Oxalic Acid to treat varroa.

I can only seem to find denatured ethanol - that is ethanol with a small amount of bitrex - an agent that makes the ethanol bitter (presumably so that people don't consume it)

Has anyone used denatured ethanol when used with oxalic acid treatment in vaporizers? Any side effects?

Thanks
Dave

If you are concerned, Use Everclear. Available at your nearest liquor store.

On second look, I see you are in NZ. Everclear is a 160 or 190 proof rectified spirit. It's straight ethanol like vodka, without the flavorings found in other liquors.

Be 100% sure what the alcohol is denatured with if that is what you are using. Some of the denaturing agents are toxic such as methanol.

Edit: They put pyridine in not piperdine. Same warning applies, how would that mess with scent communications?
