I thought I had seen some information about counting bees (foragers) exiting and returning to a hive during a nectar flow for the purpose of estimating honey yield. I've looked for this recently and cannot locate anything. I've found some information for pollination but nothing for honey yield. Obviously there is no way to use these counts to determine the yield with accuracy due to so many things that can, and will, but go wrong. It's just something I am curious about.
Thanks

I only count the bees that are returning with nectar. You know how much nectar a bee can carry, you know how much nectar it takes to produce honey.... simple math and some arithmetic.
