First year Beek here. I started two foundationless hives hives from 5 frame foundation Nuc's, with the intension to pull the foundation frames at some point and replace them with foundationless frames.
So my thought is to pull these frames with foundation and do two walk away splits right back into the same jester nuc boxes they came in at the end of July, early August. Thoughts about this?
My process would go like this. Pull the frames from the bottom deep, replace them with frames from the same placement in the second deep, replace the second deep empty slots with new foundationless frames. Put the frames in the nuc boxes and do something with the Nuc's. The something is another thing I need to work out. Would they need to stay in the current bee yard or could I move them? Might I buy two queens and try to requeen at the same time?
