I was wondering when the main honey season starts in Eastern Kentucky. I have a friend who has some land I think around Whitesburg and he says the bees would do good down there. Is this area pretty good for honey and do you get sourwood trees in Eastern Kentucky. Any info greatly appreciated.

Poplar in May, and Lin and Sourwood middle of June to first week or so in July. Then pack them up and head out of this dead zone. No not that bad but pretty sparse here from July on out.

Trees....black locust too, right? Fields and mowed areas should have clover from May to upto fall and Goldenrod, asters, white snake foot, golden honey in fall if rain is good.

Probably not in Whitesburg, maybe but areas like that are few and far between. I envy you guys out there. But when its on here its on, weather permitting.
