All of my hives seem to have put on most of their honey weight in the past week or two with two supers nearly filled out of 9 hives. Upon inspection today I feel like some hives were honey bound in the deeps. Today I put the supers in between the deeps on hives that haven't really moved up into them. Is the flow over? Hives seem to still be working hard and and like I said most weight has been put on recently. Do you think that method will help get the other supers filled?

if brood was in both deeps I wouldn't put an empty super inbetween, but thats just me. I put them ontop of the brood boxes and they will move up if they need the space. Sometimes an older queen will not move up and swarm.

In our area the flow is over, eastern county in the mountains may very well still be on, perhaps on sourwood right now.

Yes I believe the sourwood is still on and this is probably slightly late for it but spring was late as well. I think I will leave them in between the brood chambers only for a couple days then rearrange them to get them to start working them. Each brood box is every bit of 80lbs so I know they are pretty full

Glad to here it Mountain Man, I told you to hang in there you may catch some.

I have noticed the sourwood finishing up on one side of the hill but in full bloom on the other. I figure about a week left for me, but I'm at a lower elevation. Spent last week at Cave Run and they were in full bloom there then. Came back and checked and have been having to put together supers ever since. I think this is a combination of sourwood and the clover bloom after everyones 1st cutting of hay.

We must not of had a Linden bloom here this year, usually a week or so before sourwood.

Just wanted to update, in about a week I have had two medium supers filled and capped. The supers above them have been drawn out and are ready to be filled. 7 other hives have their medium supers drawn and I am hoping they will get filled this week!
