Hi. I'm not a bee keeper... Just have a question. We poured a concrete slab recently and every day I find about 10-20 dead bees on it. I've been watching, and they come down... walk around on it for a while, and then flop over on their backs. It almost seems like they're drunk. :) They won't fly away, and they continue to wander and flop around until they die.

Is there something in concrete that kills them? I hate to see them dying off every day.... any suggestions? Thanks.

They could be attracted to the chemicals in the concrete albeit unlikely. Do you know where the hive is? Someone could have sprayed them with insecticide and what you are seeing is the risidual fallout from it. Sad, but people do indeed do it.
