Not true. I'm sure they would given the opportunity. But, typically the queens fly further from the hive than the drones do. So she should be with other drones and they mate with multiple drones in one mating flight so both of these things help keep inbreeding down to a minimum.

Someone told me a virgin queen will not mate with a drone from her own hive.
