Will my bees recycle drone comb after they hatch to accomodate worker brood. I have a top bar hive with probably one full bar of drone cells. The other 12 bars are mostly worker brood , feed and scattered drone cells.
I have not seen them change a comb size once its built. Drone comb will be used for either more drones, or re-purposed as honey stores. If you have a a full bar of drone comb, I would consider yourself lucky and keep it. You may use it for verroa mite control (freezing capped drone brood). If you remove all drone comb, chances are they may just build more.
