Drawn Comb

1053 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Fisherdg
In mid May I checked my hives and all were thriving. In mid June I checked my hives and found one was now empty. All of the bees were gone. I opened and inspected all frames and found a few moths but no major damage.

Now my question: all 20 frames have fully drawn comb. Can I safely freeze these to kill any infestations, pests, etc and reuse them in my other hives?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can. I always leave them in the freezer 24 to 36 hours.
thank you for the information. I was concerned about ruining my remaining hives with them.
