Hey guys -
I've been trying not to treat my hives for Varroa mites but the majority of my hives should a significant increase this year and have way exceeding my threshold for treating. I'm going to use Apiguard. Do I have to add a "shim" or put an empty super on top of my brood boxes or can I just place the tray/cardboard/wax paper with the Apiguard on top of my brood boxes. The vast majority of my hives have two brood boxes and a super on top of those with 40% stores. My plan was just to put the tray with the Apiguard on top of the brood boxes under the super. My concern is that the instructions were indicating to put an empty super on top??? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
