Greetings One and All
Have just viewed a Youtube video on the use of the above material under the hives to control ants and such for gaining access to the hives. I was wondering if anyone has used this under their hives and how it worked.
I've had great success with it this year. It goes on my IPM board, which is below my screened bottom board. It doesn't get wet, so I don't need to be reapplied and the bees can't get into it. Any larvae dropping on it are toast. The adult beetles that get run down there by the workers writhe around in it for a bit and then end up dead too. Since this was my first year using it, I set up some of my hives without it as controls to see if it really works. As of last weekend, I have converted all of them to this method.
