Decontaminate Hive from Pesticide exposure?

824 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Jack Grimshaw
I am new and I believe my hive was killed off by exposure from residential Orkin pesticide treatment in the vicinity of the hive.
Before starting again, is there any known way to decontaminate the box and material so future bees don't get exposure?
It was an accident and within days the bees were wiped out.
Thanks in advance.

I was given a topbar hive that was directly sprayed, unknown pesticide. The story was a swarm moved into an empty hive and the neighbor sprayed it.. I scrapped it, I soapy water washed it, hot pressure washed it, rinsed it and let sit out in the sun a few months. No residue problems. It swarmed yesterday.
